BSc (Earth and Environmental Science) (Hons), MSc (Exploration Geophysics)
Lauren graduated from the University of Leeds in 2011 with a master’s degree in Exploration Geophysics. She has more than 10 years of geophysical industry experience across the UK, Middle East, and Australasia. Her core technical skills include seismic interpretation, acoustic and optical televiewer processing, structural interpretation, and LiDAR structural mapping.
Prior to joining MineGeoTech, Lauren worked as a seismic interpreter in the multi-client department of CGG. She also gained experience in working with 2D and 3D offshore seismic datasets, as well as experience working with gravity and magnetic datasets. At Paradigm, Lauren provided training in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation software and also worked as a consultant for some projects.
Technical capabilities include:
- Acoustic and optical televiewer processing, interpretation and quality control
- Structural orientation analysis using stereonets and rose diagrams
- Fracture frequency analysis and geotechnical domaining
- Validation of major structures using core photographs and televiewer imagery
- Borehole ovality and breakout analysis to assess possible stress orientations
- Full waveform sonic processing and P-wave velocity determination
- Structural picking of LiDAR data
- Technical reporting, data delivery and client training
Her software skills include RocScience Dips, WellCAD, CloudCompare, and Gem4D.
