BEng (Mining)
Elamurugan ‘Ela’ has more than 12 years of specialised experience in Surface and Underground Mining operations and Geotechnical Engineering. Ela worked as a Mine Production Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer in India since 2012 after graduating from The College of Engineering, Guindy with a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering. Having relocated to Australia, Ela has been working with MineGeoTech since November 2024.
Technical capabilities include:
- Geotechnical engineering in surface (open pit) and underground mining operations
- Slope stability radar (SSR)
- Production and operations in mechanised open pit & underground metal mines
- Empirical and numerical modeling
- Preparation and maintenance of the ground control management plan (GCMP)
- Pit and waste dump stability standards
- Cemented Paste Backfill Engineering
- Mine seismic monitoring and interpretation
- Truck dispatch system
- Interaction of open pit and underground operations
- Technical statutory works related to Mines Safety (e.g., Directorate General of Mines Safety – DGMS)
Software skills include Unwedge, DIPS, RocData, RS2, RS3, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Map3D, Flac3D, Leapfrog, Datamine, Mine seismic monitoring software, Blastware and MS Office.
