George Bingley - MineGeoTech - MGT - Early Career Geotechnical Engineer

BSc (Earth Science), MEngGeol.

George graduated from the University of Auckland in 2025 with a Masters degree in Engineering Geology. He has been working in civil quarrying and site investigation roles throughout his university career. George has 2 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering role.

George joined MineGeoTech’s Geotechnical Site Support team in January 2026. During this time he has spent 4 months on the Appin Coal Mine VS7 & VS8 shaft sinking operation in NSW, and 2 months at Invincible underground mine in WA.

Technical capabilities include:

  • Rock mass assessment and mapping, ground support QAQC and assessment and support recommendations.
  • Underground open stoping stope notes
  • Underground Paste backfill design
  • Geotechnical Analysis of soil and rock
  • Geological mapping
  • Geotechnical investigations (data collection, analysis and interpretation)
  • Drilling and core logging
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Earthworks and site works supervision
  • Geological hazard mapping and risk assessment

He has experience with Civil3D,  Deswik, Rocscience Suite, and AutoCAD.
