
BSc (Geology), Professional Master of Engineering Geology (PMEG)
Marcel Langton has more than 16 years of experience in both mining and civil engineering industries in Australia and New Zealand. He graduated from The University of Canterbury with a Professional Master of Engineering Geology (PMEG) in 2017, after completing a Bachelor of Science (Geology) in 2008 and a Postgraduate Diploma of Science (Geology) in 2009 at the University of Auckland. He has been working with MineGeoTech since April 2025.
Technical capabilities include:
- Pre field work desktop studies to identify test areas and review existing data
- Core logging – lithology & geotechnical
- Daily management of drill programs
- Logging soil and rock in accordance with MGT and industry standards (AS 1726 and NZGS Guidelines)
- On site construction monitoring of earthworks
- Carrying out Nuclear Density Meter (NDM) testing
- Soil sampling, and collection of samples for laboratory testing
- Logging and sampling of RC chips
- Geomorphic mapping
