BEng (Engineering Geology and Geotechnics) (Hons) 

Pavel graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with an honours degree in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics. He has more than 4 years of experience in mining and civil engineering disciplines working across the UK and Australia.

In the UK, his career began as a property development consultant - project managing and executing ground investigations for housing and commercial developments on brownfield and greenfield land. He gained further operational geotechnical experience whilst working for a multi-national ground investigation contractor involved in large rail infrastructure projects. Since coming to Australia, Pavel has worked in various civil, exploration drilling and underground roles combining his passion for travel and geology.

Pavel joined MineGeoTech in 2020 as an underground technician collecting geotechnical data from active headings using specialist equipment. After several months, he took on a role of an early career geotechnical engineer and has spent the last year gaining experience on site.

  • Geotechnical and geological mapping
  • Geotechnical logging
  • Geotechnical inspections of development and stopes
  • Drill rig supervision
  • Undertaking ground investigation specifying/utilising a variety of methods
  • Soil/rock mass characterisation through in-situ and laboratory test supervision
  • Factual and interpretative report writing

His software skills include Deswik, Dips, Unwedge and Microsoft Office.
